Turmeric Crackers – S

Turmeric is very good for your health, including helping to prevent cancer.  It is even more effective when taken with Black Pepper and Coconut Oil.  My friend Jan included them in her cracker recipe, and they are very tasty!

For variation, you can also make these crackers with different herbs or made plain.

1 cup ground almonds

1 egg white

½ onion chopped very finely

½ cup Edam cheese

1 Tblsp. savoury yeast

1 Tblsp turmeric

1 ½ teasp grated black pepper

1 Tblsp of coconut oil

1 Tblsp. Pumpkin seeds

1 Tblsp. Sunflower seeds

Salt and pepper to taste

Poppy seeds to coat

Mix all ingredients except poppy seeds together.

With oiled fingers, roll into balls. Press into poppy seeds to flatten into circles, 3-4 m.m. thick.

Prick with a fork.  Bake 15 min. at 190deg. C

You can roll out between two sheets of baking paper if you don’t have time to make the balls.

Cut into small squares and prick before baking.

Nice on their own or with hummus or cheese etc.

If they are not crunchy after cooling on a rack, pop back in oven turned off, or put in a dehydrator for a while to dry without burning.
